Brief History of LGGA.
The Liberia Girl Guides Association is a non-governmental organization that provides opportunities and education for girls and young women to become responsible, caring and valued citizens of Liberia and the world. The Liberia Girl Guides Association was established by an act of the legislature in 1926 under the leadership of the late C. Adeline King, wife of the late President C.D.B King of Liberia.
The association helped to build a strong foundation for girls and young women throughout Liberia, the activities of girl guiding is built on its mission and vision which seeks to build a world where all girls are valued and take action to change the world. Motto: Be prepared: to be prepared in every aspect of life and demonstrate what you have been taught though health, education, services, sports and religion. Membership: The membership of the association is about 3000 including brownies, guides, rangers, young leaders, guiders, commissioners and council members.

Lucretia Jeneba Thomas, Former Chief Commissioner and member of the National Council of the Liberia Girl Guides Association, was an extraordinary woman for many reasons. She loved Guiding with a passion so great that it transformed her entire life.

Flag Day Celebration

Liberia celebrated her 165th National Flag Day on August 24, 2012, of which the Liberia Girl Guides Association took active part in both the outdoor and indoor programs. Outdoor Activities
The outdoors activities started at 8:00am on August 24, 2012 with a parade from Ministry of Education through the principle streets of Monrovia. Students from 30 schools and other organizations including LGGA formed part of the parade.
